Hi, when I start my Silverlight Application in Visual Studio with the 'Visual Studio Development Server' then everything works fine, but when I open/test my application over an IIS 'Use local IIS-Webserver', then I get an CommunicationException, when I call my webservice. ErrorMessage: An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI ‘This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. You may need to contact the owner of the service to publish a cross-domain policy file and to ensure it allows SOAP-related HTTP headers to be sent.
Please see the inner exception for more details. I have no idea, what I can do to solve this problem. I hope someone of you guys can help me! I use Windows Vista with the IIS 6! Best Regards Malone. Your service reference points at the web site in the context of running under the VS Development Server. When you change it to IIS, it runs under a different context, and so it gives the cross site error.
More likely, however, is that you want to update your service reference to point to the URL when running under IIS (and then when you publish the site you'll need to update the service reference again to your actual hosted URL). Hello jamlew, can you give me an example of it, what you exactly mean (?), because I don't know how I could realize that. These are my first steps with silverlight! Best Regards Malone.
